Description

Leidos is seeking a Senior Software Tester to support United States Space Force (USSF). Development activities at the Cyber Operations Branch program office adhere to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). SAFe offers proven, integrated principles, practices, and competencies to implement lead, agile, and DevOps at scale. Additionally, this program office personifies DevSecOps which automates the integration of security at every phase of the software development lifecycle from initial design, through integration, testing, deployment, and software delivery. These development efforts shall result in two deployable defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to USSF mission systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and diagnose performance issues across multiple technical domains.
  • Identify root causes of performance bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and implement automated test scenarios and environments tailored to performance testing.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to address system and performance challenges in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Lead the development of test automation scripts and scenarios to validate performance and security.
  • Enhance and debug automated test cases for various test scenarios, including load testing, security testing, and functional testing of web services.
  • Implement testing for common web methods (GET, PUT, POST, DELETE) to ensure functionality and security of web services.
  • Utilize tools like JSON parsers for validating XML and JSON bodies in test cases.
  • Apply OAuth and OAuth2 authentication mechanisms in the testing process.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams (e.g., development, quality assurance) to define testing strategies, goals, and milestones.
  • Provide clear, concise communication of test results, performance issues, and proposed solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of best practices for test automation and performance evaluation.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of performance test results and software behavior under test.
  • Validate feedback, response time, error codes, and other key performance indicators to ensure system functionality.
  • Provide detailed reports outlining findings, with recommendations for corrective actions or further testing.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate test outcomes to ensure high-quality software performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Software Development, or a STEM-related field, with 10 years of professional experience; or a Master's degree in the same fields with 8 years of professional experience.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • SAFe for Teams, Agile Technical Tester, & Implementing Test Process Improvement certifications within 12 months of start date
  • Strong background in software testing, test-driven development, software test automation, and performance testing.
  • Proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages and tools: Java, Angular, GitLab, RHEL, JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr, and Python.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Agile project management, software development life cycle management, and cross-functional team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity & knowledge:
  • SIMP Project, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL
  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
  • Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office
  • Experience with DoD/ defense software factories
  • TS/SCI

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
