Leidos has a current opening for a TS/SCI cleared Senior Software Engineer supporting our client's overall mission to centralize and standardize Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation and Dissemination (TCPED) of Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) across the DoD and IC enterprise.

While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, some unclassified development tasks may be performed remotely. Percentage of remote work will vary based on client requirements/deliverables.

As a senior member of the team, you bring deep expertise in software engineering, data engineering and will work closely with other infrastructure and network engineers, data scientists, and system engineers on the following key tasks:
- Developing, designing, testing, and maintaining software that is primarily FOSS dependent with a heavy emphasis on Python programming.
- Writing robust and efficient code that Integrates with backend database technologies such as Elasticsearch (NoSQL) and PostgreSQL/MariaDB (RDBMS) utilizing modern techniques in CRUD abstraction such as RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
- Design, develop, and maintain python-based HTTP services that incorporate aspects of scalable systems such as asynchronous programming, load balancing, concurrency, authentication/authorization, and fault tolerance.
- Deploying software in an AWS cloud with technologies like EC2, Amazon Aurora, Lambda (FaaS) and Kubernetes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and other software professionals to create high-quality solutions.
You demonstrate clear devotion to the software engineering best practices and meet the following minimum required qualifications :
- Bachelor's Degree and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 - 13 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must possess TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Experience designing, developing, and maintain software primarily written in the Python coding language.
- Experience with RDBMS based backends such as PostgreSQL and MariaDB.
- Experience writing web-based REST services that utilize the HTTP protocol.
- Experience designing and maintaining ETL and ELT pipelines with technologies such as Spark, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, Argocd, Metaflow, Kubeflow, etc.
- Experience with DevOps / MLOps, using CI/CD methodology with data pipelines, and cloud-native deployment paradigms.
- Experience with database design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Expertise in data profiling techniques and understanding the content from both a data quality and business perspective.
- Experience with data quality and accuracy evaluation techniques.
- Experience with Agile practices.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
