Leidos is seeking a talented Engineering Project Manager to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Land Systems, Platform Development Division focuses on development and production of advanced weapon systems for military and aerospace customers. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for leading programs involving diverse engineering and manufacturing skillsets. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely completion of program deliverables, tracking program costs, schedule, and performance. This position encompasses the complete lifecycle of a program from concept development through design, development, prototype and production. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying risk, developing mitigation plans, adherence to cost and schedule as well as collection and analyzing program performance metrics. The selected candidate will serve as the primary customer interface for the program and will brief division and business area leadership on program performance. The position requires strong communication skills, ability to lead cross-functional teams, and demonstrated experience exhibiting good judgement. Some domestic travel (~15% annually) for meetings, oversight of remote project team activities, and test events will be required.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution
- 15+ years of technical experience in the defense/aerospace industry
- 5+ years' experience managing technical programs that involve development and production in the defense industry or similar rigor
- Experience measuring scope, schedule, and cost performance. Strong understanding of program planning and implementation of Earned Value techniques and tools
- Successful experience leading and managing a firm fixed-price deliverable contract
- Experience successfully leading cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment to meet quality, schedule and cost commitments
- Remote work-force management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer interaction and presentation skills
- Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) an active TS/SCI security clearance.
Other Qualifications
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution
Preference shown to candidates who possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or DAWIA PM Certification
Preference shown to candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:
- AS9100 quality systems and compliance
- Navigating DoD acquisition processes and methods
- Risk identification, analysis, and management techniques
- Understanding of systems engineering principles, design and manufacturing processes, and quality systems
- Subcontract management including creating SOW, and managing technical, schedule and budget for both large and small subcontractors.
- Proposal management including identifying key partners, developing statements of work for subcontracts, planning and writing proposal response.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $134,550.00 - $243,225.00
