The Leidos National Security Sector (NSS) is hiring for a Senior Data Engineer to join our project team located in Brussels, Belgium supporting NATO's independent Programme Office for enhanced Air Command and Control (eAirC2). The selected candidate will provide technical support in implementing the mandate of the new independent Programme Office to define an AirC2 capability. This position offers a unique opportunity to join a high-profile team of international system-of-systems (SOS) subject matter experts and be a part of the engineering lifecycle from concept through delivery. This is a multi-year programme focused on data centric, model based, systems engineering practices and the injection of advanced technologies to enhance current mission capabilities. What you'll be doing:
- Data discovery, collection, analysis, and validation.
- Design and implement an advanced distributed data model to optimize capability delivery.
- Produce customer defined views enabling advanced information/knowledge management features.
- Create and maintain a Program level CAPI for data retrieval across a multi-national federated network.
- Maintain and support the foundational data elements of the Systems Engineering data model and ontology.
- Conduct data analysis in support of all manner of testing including unit, integration, system, acceptance, regression, etc.
- Drive internal support for continuous R&D, innovation, and technology insertion.
- Align and influence the strategic mission, vision, and direction of the Programme.
- Coordination the resolution of cross-discipline action items raised in miscellaneous boards and reviews.
- Deliver real-time, on-demand performance and reporting as required to meet the needs of Programme.
- Continuous engagement with systems engineers to ensure all data required to support the systems engineering data model is collected, stored, and processed IAW agreed terms.
- Managing change while providing five nines reliability and 100% traceability to source requirements, across the entire engineering lifecycle.
- A Programmatic lifestyle based on continuously monitoring the health and performance of all data pipelines.
- Coding/scripting to include debugging, peer review, optimization, and mentoring of junior engineers.
- Learning and/or testing new tools, technologies, or methodologies.
- Stakeholder management and user engagement.
- Thought leadership and group discussion on data management.
What does Leidos need from me?
- U.S. Secret security clearance required. You will then obtain Access to NATO Secret (National Clearance Equivalent) which can take less than an hour.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 12 plus years of relevant system-of-systems engineering experience; or a master's degree with 10 plus years of prior relevant experience.
- Advanced soft skills and emotional intelligence to deal with high complexity, political influence, and a multi-cultural work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal English language skills sufficient for effective communications of complex topics with senior level leaders across the NATO community.
- Leadership traits developed in an international work environment, self-motivation, and an orientation towards results through the relentless pursuit of continuous improvement
- Experience transforming raw data bytes into structured, insightful information.
- Knowledge of ETL tools, data warehousing, stream processing, cloud computing, version control, etc.
- A mature and compelling vision, along with an in-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts, for how to create a data centric system-of-systems capability for advanced command and control of a globally deployed and federated asset base.
Favorable if you have:
- Data science skills and knowledge.
- RPA and/or other automation experience/skillsets.
- Certification by Azure Data Engineer, IBM Data Engineering, Data Science Council of America (DASCA), etc.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages such as python, SQL, etc.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Expertise in Artificial Intelligence technologies such as ML, NLP, Expert Systems, etc.
- Proficiency in mathematical, algorithmic, and/or statistical analysis methods and tools.
- Process optimization and automation experience.
- C2 domain knowledge in the aerospace defense sector.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
