Description

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Data Engineer to join our Digital Modernization team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and infrastructure to support complex data analytics and business intelligence initiatives at-scale. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data flow and accessibility, enabling stakeholders to derive valuable insights that enhance business outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate large volumes of complex data from multiple sources.
  • Create a scalable, multi-cloud data mesh platform to enable seamless data sharing within tactical and enterprise environments
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Build and maintain ETL processes and workflows to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Optimize performance of data systems and troubleshoot issues related to data integrity, data quality, and pipeline performance.
  • Implement and maintain data warehouse solutions, ensuring data availability and accessibility for analytics and reporting purposes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and 12+ years of prior experience in data engineering field.
  • Must have strong foundation in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of data mesh principles, architecture, and implementation
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with data manipulation and transformation frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Pandas).
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure preferred) and proficiency in deploying and managing data solutions in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • US citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with big data analytics and stream processing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
  • Certification in relevant technologies or platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
