Leidos is seeking a Senior-Level Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Pipeline Engineer to ensure end-to-end quality for a team developing, testing, and managing software in a cloud environment to support an autonomy software framework. Work will include leading the effort to create and manage strategies, standards, and policies for a GitLab CI/CD pipeline; collaborating with the customer and other contractors; troubleshooting and maintaining the pipeline; and installing and monitoring pipeline tools. Experience with Linux, GitLab, and shell scripting is essential.

Must be a US citizen with ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Candidate must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in meetings with the customer, other contractors, and stakeholders
  • Provide recommendations to improve the existing CI/CD pipeline for performing configuration management, managing releases, running automated tests, etc.
  • Implement all improvements and updates to the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Implement best practices for containerization and virtualization of development, test, and production environments.
  • Ensure that all updates to the pipeline tools are done in a timely manner with minimal disruption to development.
  • Extract metrics and automated results using CI/CD tools.
  • Create and maintain documentation on the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Perform as part of an agile software development team for tasking and progress reporting.
  • Perform as a process mentor providing guidance and support for multiple multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Assist software engineers in performing duties using the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues and bugs in a timely manner.
  • Help orchestrate, deploy and maintain software release trains.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years' experience or a Master's degree and 10 years' experience; 4 additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and updating CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
  • Experience using git for software version control, including merging, tagging, releases, etc.
  • Cloud development experience using Microsoft Azure or related cloud technology.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with customer and software engineers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • US citizen with ability to obtain Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating Virtual Machines and Docker containers.
  • Experience writing software in C++, Python, or Rust.
  • Active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Software development or administration experience in Linux.
  • Linux shell scripting experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
