Description

Leidos has an exciting opening for you as our next mid-level Safety Engineer under the digital modernization group. As a mid-level Safety Engineer, you will be required to help manage the Safety Program for the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center campus in Oklahoma City, OK. All work is conducted on-site at our client location in Oklahoma City, OK. You will be able to work remotely, 2 days out the week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recognize, evaluate, and develop necessary controls for occupational health hazards, environmental impacts, and safety concerns.
  • Supports in development of procedures, processes, standards, specifications, and systems to identify and achieve optimal control or reduction of hazards and exposures that may harm people, property, and/or the environment.
  • Serves as part of a multidisciplinary team in analyzing field-level hazard-producing mechanisms.
  • Research regulatory, scientific, and engineering written materials.
  • Assists safety professionals in facility inspections and annual audits.
  • Initiate and provide written documentation to support the MMAC EOSHMS.
  • Provide professional forklift training for compliance of occupational safety and health regulations.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a public trust suitability clearance. (To qualify, you will have to be a US citizen or permanent resident and resided in the US for a minimum of 3 consecutive years.)

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety engineering or related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Additional years of experience (3-5 years) can be considered in place of a degree.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
