Job Summary
Leidos is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer (HDE) with a basic understanding of VSAT design and field integration. The candidate will be responsible for conducting remote site surveys, detecting and mitigating RF interference, and collaborating with customers and site personnel. This role includes maintaining existing hardware and supporting system refreshes and new deployments.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of VSAT design and field integration.
- Conduct remote site surveys to assess system requirements and conditions.
- Perform RF interference detection and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with customers and site personnel to maintain existing hardware.
- Provide support for hardware refreshes and new deployments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university and four (4) or more years related experience is required. Five (5) years of additional hardware design engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Three (3) or more years as a HDE in integrated circuit or microelectronic component design or reverse engineering of the same is required.
- Knowledge of the RF spectrum.
- Proficiency in RF Test, Management, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
- Expertise in systematic troubleshooting processes.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Experience in fiber optic installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Hands-on experience with RF Communications Systems, including:
- Antenna apertures
- Antenna servo systems
- RF feed assemblies
- Low noise amplifiers
- Frequency converters
- Antenna control units
- Clearance Required: Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
