Leidos' Defense Systems Aerospace Sector is seeking a Quality Engineer to work closely with our Hypersonic Program. This role will be the Lead / POC for AS9102 First Article Inspection deliverables.

Primary Responsibilities
• Develop, complete, and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102 standard.
• Review drawings, certificates, characteristic results, specifications, documentation and certification for all FAIs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, purchase orders, SOWs, CDRLs, etc.
• Ensure compliance between customer technical data packages and FAIR packages.
• Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customer teams to resolve FAIR discrepancies and non-conformance issues.
• Provide technical support, assistance and guidance on First Article Inspection processes to internal team.
• Collaborate with the customer to ensure timely and accurate submission of FAIRs, per schedule.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing data to assess the suitability and completeness of FAIRs.
• Assist in process improvements and implement best practices for FAIR procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to AS9102 and aerospace & defense manufacturing
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications
• Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Masters degree wit 2-6 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, a High school diploma/GED with 10 years of experience will be considered
• Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies in documentation, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• In-depth knowledge of customer specifications, purchase orders, SOWs, CDRLs, etc.
• Demonstrated experience interpreting industry specifications (ASME, ASTM, SAE, etc.).
• Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, technical data, and specifications.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as AS9102, AS9100, and other relevant aerospace & defense standards.
• Demonstrated computer literacy.
• Candidate must be a resident of the Colorado Springs area or willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs - Monument - Pueblo, CO area.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
