Description

Leidos Engineering is seeking a Project Manager in Texas to join our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will work alongside engineering managers and account managers to provide Project Management Services supporting various electric utility clients. You will oversee a portfolio of electric utility projects, with a diverse blend of transmission line, distribution line, and substation engineering throughout the United States. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be part of an established Project Management Office (PMO) within our division, responsible for portfolio management, people leadership, and driving special initiatives. Additionally, you will lead larger proposals, manage a team of project managers, and ensure the successful delivery of projects while adhering to Leidos' Mission, Vision, and Values.

This role may be remote in nature, but will require some travel based on the needs of our localized utility clients. Candidates must be located in or near Texas and available for local and regional travel to be considered for this position.

As a Project Manager, you can expect to:

  • Independently lead project teams to complete engineering design of various sized electrical infrastructure projects for construction clients located throughout the United States
  • Accept responsibility for overall project performance, reporting, and fostering strategic relationships
  • Manage project costs, schedule and scope, including the development of recovery plans to stay within approved limits
  • Interface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks
  • Ensure contract compliance throughout project lifecycle
  • Drive results by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
  • Ensure and document adherence to the quality control process
  • Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
  • Prepare bid documents, develop cost estimates and respond to requests For proposal
  • Complete client invoicing and accruals within prescribed time frames
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing partnerships and grow new relationships

What you'll bring to the table (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required
  • Mid- Level: A minimum of four (4) years of relevant Project Management experience in the electric power industry
  • Senior- Level: A minimum of four (8) years of relevant Project Management experience in the electric power industry
  • Demonstrated Familiarity with US electric utilities and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services and electric power infrastructure projects
  • Previous experience planning, monitoring and reporting project financial performance
  • Demonstrated success in change management
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Aptitude for problem solving and critical thinking
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, Pro Core, MS Project, P6) and MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Periodic travel may be required; Candidates should possess a valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a consulting environment for US electric utilities
  • PMP Certification
  • Previous Experience working with Substation and/or Transmission Line projects

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
