Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for a Project Manager who will work alongside lead engineers and account managers supporting various electric utility clients. The Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office within our Power Delivery Solutions division that provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities for comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide.

This position may be remote in nature, but candidates must be located in the Northeastern United states in order to be considered. Candidates commutable to the greater Detroit, MI area will be preferred. This allows Leidos to best serve our utility customers as needed. Local/Regional travel may be required on an as needed basis.

As a Project Manager, you can expect to:

  • Assist project teams in completing engineering design of various sized electric infrastructure projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utility customers
  • Be responsible for overall project performance and reporting
  • Manage project costs, schedule and scope, including the development of recovery plans to stay within approved limits
  • Ensure contract compliance
  • Drive work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
  • Ensure and document adherence to the quality control process
  • Interface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks across a program of projects
  • Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
  • Assist with the preparation of bid documents, development of cost estimates and responses to Requests For Proposal
  • Complete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames
  • Assist your team in identifying potential business development opportunities

What You'll Bring to the Table (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or a closely related discipline is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated Experience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project, P6)
  • Experience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc) is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience managing project financials, scopes, and schedules
  • Must have the capability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts on project tasks
  • Must have the capability to understand, plan, monitor and report project financial performance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively

You Might Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • PMP Certification is preferred but not required; Ideal Candidates will have a desire to obtain PMP Certification within two years
  • Previous Experience working with various contract types including Fixed Price and Time & Material
  • Direct experience with utilities
  • Previous exposure to projects for major US electric utilities
  • Demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
