Description
Leidos, is currently seeking a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Level 3 in Radiography to work in our Huntsville, Alabama area. This position will provide non-destructive testing expertise to Leidos' Hypersonic project working with the Advanced Materials Group as well as a chance to work with other various projects and programs throughout the company.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluate DoD and aerospace hardware with various radiographic inspection methods.
- Work directly with engineering and analysis to develop accept and reject criteria based on test data.
- Shall either independently or as part of a team write inspection and evaluation procedures for processes developed the research team.
- Develop and maintain indication logs on spreadsheets to track flaw locations throughout hardware fabrication.
- Use knowledge of several industry codes and specifications to notify production and quality engineers of deficiencies or nonconformances.
- Shall be able to compare and reposition 3D models against scan data to determine the minimum envelope for material removal.
- Review Digital & Film X-Rays (Classified and Unclassified), and review CT scans.
- Develop a summary of findings and key metrics, and be capable of providing clarification of results to the customer and other team members.
- Must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
- Be willing to assist with other NDE programs and accumulate hours to be able to test out for additional NDE certifications.
- Evaluate new jobs and programs and assist in inspection technique development.

Basic Qualifications
- BS Degree and 8-12 years of experience or High School diploma and 12- 16 years of experience.
- The qualified candidate must be able achieve and maintain either or both ASNT Level 3 and/or NAS-410 Level III certifications in Digital/Computed and Film Radiography at a minimum, and shall also possess the ability to pass a vision and color perception exam.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in NDT.
- Candidate must have strong communication skills with the ability to train others.
- Candidate must have experience in internal audit practices with knowledge of root cause and corrective actions.
- Must be capable of learning advanced NDT methods such as Computed Tomography (CT).
- Candidate must have demonstrated experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, models, and specifications.
- Candidate must be capable of consistent computer use with skills including Microsoft office products.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Candidate must be capable of obtaining and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- RT Level 3 qualification in other NDT Methods
- A.S. in NDT, B.S. in Science, or higher education a plus
- Some travel may be required, typically no more than 10%
- Candidate with a current security clearance is a plus
- Computed Tomography Level 2 or 3 qualification is a plus

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
