Leidos Digital Modernization is seeking a results-oriented Modeling & Simulation Specialist to support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center's (NEC) Team at Fort Meade, MD.
This isn't just any job. The NEC serves as the hub for NC3 Enterprise operations, systems engineering and enterprise architecture, and as the technical authority for NC3 within the Department of Defense. Our customer, directed by the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), applies subject matter expertise and best practices to translate mission and operational requirements into solutions and operational capabilities.

Come use your demonstrated ability to develop and utilize modeling and simulation tools at the enterprise level for end-to-end architecture analysis. In this role, it is considered essential that you fully demonstrate the ability to use ModSim tools and techniques to achieve success through assessing multiple aspects (e.g., performance, survivability, etc.) of current and future NC3 Enterprise architectures. Your duties also include keeping up-to-date on state-of-the-art simulation tools/techniques and the ability to develop models and simulations using these tools and techniques.
What will you do in this role?
- Support the NEC's digital engineering efforts in the areas of architecture, analysis, design, modeling, simulation and systems integration.
- Employ modeling tools to graphically display system functions, requirements and performance data.
- Support development of engineering documentation, requirements analyses, requirements generation, and system design.
- Use models and simulations to evaluate how well communications systems may perform in benign and stressed nuclear environments. Generate reports and briefings using the results.
- Support engineering studies to inform decisions regarding NC3 Enterprise sustainment planning, capability upgrades, integration, and test and evaluation.
- Support quick reaction (typically two weeks or less turn around) analysis of system changes or issues.
This is what you need to qualify for consideration:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an educational equivalent with 5-8 years of prior relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3-6 years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the following:
- Providing dedicated support to modeling and simulation functions or operations such as, but not limited to exercises, plans, coordination, demonstrations, and instruction.
- Supporting live, constructive, or virtual training.
In addition, you should have:
- An aptitude to simulate architecture and functions using the most effective techniques.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
- Excellent communications and analytical skills.
These are the preferred qualifications, desired by the customer (but not required):
- Experience working with senior Nuclear C3 community stakeholders such as NEC, USSTRATCOM, the Joint Staff, and OSD.
- Ability to develop solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge.
- Understanding of, and experience with, operations and technical characteristics of Nuclear C3 systems to include strategic communications systems, sensor and radar systems, and communications systems deployed at nuclear command centers and on nuclear capable platforms.
- Knowledge of activity, data, and process modeling techniques and practices, to include DTRA development modeling tools.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
