Mission Distribution System (MDS) Curriculum Developer / Instructor

Our Leidos team currently has a position for an experienced Mission Distribution System professional at the Virginia Beach, VA lab (Lynnhaven area) location supporting the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program.

This position requires a person to have experience using MDS either on a Tomahawk Firing Unit (FRU) or Theater Strike Mission Planning Center (TSMPC) with the ability to share knowledge of various parts of MDS and tactical use of MDS.

Our ideal candidate will excel at working in a team consisting of other curriculum developers / instructors and coordinating with system administrators and fleet operational trainers.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for developing, updating, and instructing the TMPC Mission Distribution System (MDS) curriculum customers and updating the MDS-specific Job Qualification Requirements (JQR) materials supporting TMPC. This will consist of ensuring that the manuals reflect the latest technical capability and operational performance standards. Additional tasking may include support to other products, conducting system testing, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) supporting installations of software.

The successful candidate will be a member of a certification and training team but will be expected to work independently as needed and in accordance with published schedules. Liaison with Fleet and other contractor staff members will be required to solicit input and review the status of the curriculum and job qualification requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing and updating curriculum for new MDS software versions
  • Instructing the MDS curriculum
  • Updating the MDS-specific Job Qualification Requirements (JQR) materials supporting TMPC
  • Conducting the MDS part of SATs in the lab upon installation of equipment and supporting Fleet TMPC SATs as requested

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with 3 - 5 years directly applicable practical experience or as a former/retired USN Fire Controlman (FC) with NEC V41A
  • Operational experience on MDS at either a FRU or at a TSMPC
  • Experience writing standard operating procedures or other directives
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with the Cruise Missile Mission Planning Training and Operating Procedures (CTOPS) Manual
  • Master Training Specialist

Pay Range:

Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00
