Leidos' Defense Systems Logistics Group is seeking a Material Distribution Assistant to join our team in Shipping and Receiving Department. This position is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments of goods and materials. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments, prepares items for shipment, and receives and unpacks materials and supplies. This is a mid-level position and works under immediate supervision and typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for damages, defects, or discrepancies
  • Verify accuracy of shipment contents against purchase orders or invoices
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs declarations
  • Coordinate with carriers to schedule pick-up and delivery of shipments
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of incoming and outgoing products
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with at least 2 years of relevant experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Costpoint experience.
  • Security clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $39,000.00 - $70,500.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
