Description

Leidos Maritime System Solutions (MSS) is seeking a Logistics Specialist to provide logistics, logistics planning, and procurement support in support of a growing, fast-paced engineering research, development, testing and evaluation team at Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific.

The selected candidate will be part of a world-class team responsible for development, manufacture and test of electro-mechanical devices for use with UUVs and other undersea systems and maritime mission applications. This individual will work closely with the government-industry engineering teams through all project phases. Work may involve prototypes, small quantity proof of concept, and low-rate initial production systems.

This mid-grade position requires the candidate to hold a Secret Clearance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in team meetings to understand, influence, and support project planning and deadlines.
  • Support material acquisition and material logistics requirements.
  • Receive program team requests for new orders, create purchase requests, bill of materials and solicit engineering estimates from vendors to create a complete purchasing package for approval.
  • Track orders from start to finish while maintaining close communication with the program teams.
  • Audit quotes for accuracy, obtain required price reasonableness and competition in accordance with FAR and Leidos procurement policies for P-Card transactions, draft Sole Source Justifications as needed and route for appropriate approvals.
  • Enter purchase requests (PRs) in Costpoint for Purchase Order (PO) creation and conduct P-Card purchases.
  • Identify and work to resolve critical delivery dates, ensure physical goods receipts are completed and post PO goods receipts (GRs) in Costpoint.
  • Update project material tracking spreadsheets and work with Leidos Buyers to coordinate return authorizations and resolve missing material issues.
  • Other tasks may include inventorying and control of material in Stores, creating shipping documents and packaging material for shipment.
  • Perform logistics planning for factory and local area testing, including coordination of leased and chartered resources.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years related work experience, to include experience with structured purchasing systems.
  • Currently hold a Secret clearance
  • Previous experience in inventory maintenance.
  • Experience performing online database entry, update, and lookup activities.
  • Strong computer and internet research skills.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment and personal computer software packages to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks.
  • Work well with all levels of internal and customer management and staff is essential.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Experience with Costpoint

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,200.00 - $79,900.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
