Job Summary:

The Logistics Operations Manager ensures that equipment, products, and systems are received, recorded, packed, distributed, tracked and disposed of according to proper government regulations and procedures. Maintains awareness of best industry practices, emerging new technologies, methods, and processes. Advises non-logistics managers of best technologies, methods, and processes for the effective and efficient logistical management of property assigned to the various parts of the program. Ensures that government furnished equipment (GFE) and/or materials temporarily under the control of contractors are always accounted for. Performs physical inventories of all GFE equipment. Coordinates shipping/receiving of equipment with end users to include Customer and Leidos program staff. Maintains ability to generate reports on status of equipment to include location, repair status, shipping schedule, distribution, disposition, and other logistical-related functions. Investigates best courses of action for the resolution of logistical problems and advises these both verbally and in writing to program managers when called upon to do so. Provides advice and training where necessary to other program staff on logistical or property management responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists team in shipping, receiving and inventory control of GFE and maintenance of records related to warehouse equipment to include but not be limited to delivery vehicles, forklifts, scales, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • Engages in a variety of warehouse activities; operates a forklift or pallet jack to load, unload and move items; receives, label items and assigns storage location for goods; stocks and arranges shelves and cold storage and rotates stock as needed.
  • Maintains warehouse in a safe, clean, orderly condition and follows appropriate safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Picks up, sorts, weighs, packages, meters and records postage and distributes District and U.S. mail.
  • Maintains, reviews and updates relevant records, files, lists, logs, forms and other documentation; accurately enters data into computer system.
  • Supports refreshing equipment that has reached end-of-life
  • Coordinates release of equipment with proper authorization from a designated POC
  • Coordinates all shipping with the Government for any special packaging for select systems, field Logisticians for the movement of items between the locations identified by the customer
  • Ensures all documentation necessary for equipment shipments are properly completed and submitted
  • Provides up-to-date status of all shipping / receiving and inventory control actions to and from facilities under the contract
  • Reports observed shortages, overages, incorrect items received, lost shipments, damaged items received, improper preservation, improper packaging, and / or improper marking for receipted shipments
  • Ensures all packaging is properly marked, and that all security classification guidance for marking and handling, properly marks, stores, handles, and ships all material acquired, generated or created in accordance with contract

Basic Qualifications

  • Must possess TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance to be considered
  • One year of relevant work experience
  • The candidate must be able to formally present materials in understandable and intelligible formats, in both verbal and written arrangements.
  • The candidate must be fully proficient in the use of PC's and all programs included in the Microsoft Office application suite.

Operate logistics vehicles, to include but not be limited to:

  • Trucks (Full Size, Box Trucks / Vans)
  • Forklifts
  • Pallet Jacks
  • Proof of Insurability

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Maximo Application Suite
  • Support Long-Haul logistics operations as needed (less than 10% annual travel)
  • Developing Logistics Plans and Procedures
  • Developing Logistics Management Plans and Guidelines.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $63,700.00 - $115,150.00
