Description

Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Lead Technician. This position is with the Human Health and Performance Contract (HHPC) supporting NASA's Human Systems Engineering Department at JSC, through technical support for provisioning tasks supporting the flight food system for International Space Station.

Key provisioning tasks include: leading preparation of food products for further processing; flight packaging; stowage of flight food containers; ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices; and providing food service support for Health Stabilization Program activities for the Commercial Crew Program. Additionally, the role will provide support for inventory activities as requested.

US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of food products for flight, including preparation of facility, food preparation, flight packaging, and container stowage
  • Monitor equipment settings and support sanitation and maintenance, as required, prior to food production
  • Preparation and handling of sanitation chemicals with required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Collection and submission of sanitation and food samples for microbiological analysis
  • Complete required quality documentation for processing, packaging, and stowage tasks
  • Provide inventory support, as assigned
  • Provide food service support for Health Stabilization Program events at Johnson Space Center
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree and less than 2 yrs of related experience, or High School Diploma and 5+ yrs of related experience (e.g. food service, food production, culinary arts)
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Food Science, or related field
  • Post-secondary training in food service, food production, or culinary arts
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices for food handling/production
  • ServSafe Certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
