Leidos' Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is seeking a Lead Systems Test Engineer in Tewksbury, MA to join our cross-functional engineering team using cutting edge technology to develop truly novel solutions that make travel and trade safer, healthier, and more efficient on a global level. Our team produces a comprehensive suite of fully automated and integrated products for aviation, shipping ports, border crossings, and critical infrastructure customers.

The Lead Systems Test Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of testers, defining test strategies, creating comprehensive test plans, executing testing activities, identifying and managing defects, and ensuring the overall quality of software and hardware by collaborating closely with engineering teams and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle; they are key in setting quality standards and delivering high-quality software products within project timelines.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning and Strategy - Analyze project requirements and develop comprehensive test plans, including test scope, test cases, test environments, and timelines.
  • Team Leadership - Lead and mentor a team of system testers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and coaching on best practices.
  • Test Execution and Defect Management - Execute test cases manually or using automation tools, documenting test results and identifying defects.
  • Reporting and Communication - Prepare detailed test reports summarizing test execution results, defect trends, and overall quality metrics.
  • Quality Assurance - Establish and maintain quality standards for testing processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.
  • Software release testing - all stages of testing on Scanner, Viewing Station, Integrated conveyor system.
  • EOL Qualification Testing - test components to replace EOL items (ex. Video cards, hard-drives, monitors, computers, etc)
  • Building out / re-imaging computers

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience/trainings/certifications, etc. may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).
  • Experience testing both software and hardware in embedded systems.
  • Experience leading other testers, working with both software and hardware systems.
  • Experience with test management tools (Jira, Quality Center, ADO)
  • Formal test reporting and documentation generation is required.

Preferred skills:

  • Any scripting skills (python, bash) are a big plus.
  • Hands-on experience with building/upgrading computes (PCI cards, etc) a big plus.
  • Knowledge of automation testing frameworks is a plus

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
