Leidos currently has an opening for a Lead Material Control Specialist to work in our Ladson, SC facility. As a member of the Leidos' Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operations team, you will be joining a diverse and dedicated group who are excited about producing industry leading screening technology. Our new Ladson, SC facility will produce a comprehensive suite of fully automated and integrated products for aviation, border crossings, and critical infrastructure customers. These systems provide threat detection by screening baggage, cargo, and people at checkpoints around the world.

The Lead Material Control Specialist requires someone who has a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing business needs. This role will report into the warehouse supervisor and lead a team of 3 to 6 employees in the rapid execution of warehouse activities. To be successful, this person must be process driven, highly organized, and a critical thinker able to resolve daily problems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on tactical leader who will lead by example, set clear expectations, and drive a positive culture of excellence. Lastly, communication is the backbone to our success and this role must be able to effectively communicate to internal team members and cross functionally to internal customers.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with communicating priorities and daily direction
- Perform necessary inventory transactions in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
- Maintain physical control of material within the warehouse
- Processing replacements for non-conforming material
- Assist with picking, pulling, and packing of orders
- Participate in the inventory cycle count program and full physical counts
- Perform causative research on any inventory variances or transactional errors
- Monitor metrics and develop plan to attack areas of improvement
- Assist the warehouse team when they have questions concerning Material Orders, cycle counts, receiving inspection and any other questions that require researching the transaction history
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines
- Perform general housekeeping to ensure all work areas are clean
- Ensure all Company equipment and personal PPE are correctly used and maintained
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of warehousing or manufacturing experience.
- Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).
- Experience performing transactions within an ERP or MRP system
- Forklift experience and/or ability to drive a forklift with proper training/certification
- General computer skills for day-to-day activities and interaction with other electronic business tools
- Above average background in MS excel with the ability to perform entry level data analytics
- Average math skills able to perform calculations related to inventory counts & unit of measure conversions
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Capable of standing, walking, reaching, twisting, or performing other physical activities for extended periods of time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or higher
- Familiarity with Costpoint ERP system
- Experience with utilizing handheld scanners and label software
- Experience with shipping domestic and international

- Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences
- Good business acumen with ability to navigate interdepartmental relationships

Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $79,900.00
