Leidos is seeking a Geologist to support our environmental projects primarily in St. Louis, MO but also across the U.S., including: Twinsburg, OH, Reston, VA, Oak Ridge, TN, and other locations. The successful candidate will support environmental CERCLA and RCRA investigations and remediation projects for federal and private sector clients. The candidate will work with Leidos Project Managers, Task Managers, and Senior Staff, and interface with multiple Leidos offices. Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders are essential to success in this role.

Your Main Objective:
- Perform project tasks outlined in project work plans (e.g., Sampling and Analysis Plans, Quality Assurance Plans, Health and Safety Plans) as assigned by Project Managers, including scheduling, coordination and logistics, and deliverables.
- Support execution of field investigation phases of work, including drilling contractor oversight and installation and development of groundwater monitoring wells.
- Collecting field data and environmental samples (soil, sediment, surface water, groundwater); prepare field logs and records; sample packaging/shipping and chain of custody; and procurement of materials and supplies for field efforts.
- Geologic logging of soil and rock borings.
- Support preparation of project technical reports, including site geology/hydrogeology summaries, conceptual site models, data tabulations, and visual data presentations (e.g., maps and cross sections).
- Perform work in accordance with Leidos and client Environmental Compliance and Health & Safety programs.
What Sets You Apart:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science or related field, and at least 2 years' relevant experience, or a Master's degree with relevant internships or experience
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in groundwater modeling software.
- Experience with standard industry drilling methods (DPT, hollow-stem auger, air rotary, sonic), geologic logging of borings, and installation of groundwater monitoring wells.
You Might Also Have:
- Geologist in Training (GIT)
- Working knowledge of PFAS/PFOA investigations and sample collection.
- Prior completion of OSHA 1910.120 hazardous waste worker certification (40-hour HAZWOPER) and current OSHA 8-hour refresher.
Working Conditions and Requirements:
- Ability to work long days in outdoor environments, and work safely and follow safety precautions in extreme environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.) around dangerous industrial equipment.
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Job requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
- Successful candidate will be required to take 40-hour HAZWOPER training and be entered into the medical monitoring program upon hire.
- Must be able to travel domestically for client meetings and/or potential site visits up to 15% of the time.
Must possess a valid driver's license and pass government background checks to access and work on U.S. Government installations. Due to contract requirements, only U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents will be considered.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
