Varec, a Leidos company is currently searching for an FDS-IM Technical Project Manager. The Project Manager functions as the Fuel Depot System- Inventory Monitoring (FDS-IM), Technical Project Manager leading the technical team in managing, developing, documenting and executing the technical aspects of the project. This position will also be the central technical point of contact interacting with the Development team ensuring that all requirements are being met and the project is on schedule.

In addition, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager with excellent technical and planning skills to join our team. The ideal candidate should have experience in developing and implementing requirements, coordinating priorities of development changes while maintaining the project within budget and in line with the project schedule. They should have a knack for problem solving and be able to find solutions to technical issues quickly and efficiently.

Location: This position would allow for hybrid remote work for candidates located within commuting distance to our Peachtree Corners GA office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Government point of contact for all technical issues
  • Supervise applicable staff
  • Assist with staffing requirements as applicable
  • Assist team with reaching program goals
  • Provide Technical Oversight related to the solution/development/configuration/Cloud Architect and Business Needs
  • Assist with Corporate Reporting Requirements (Technical issues)
  • Adhere to Program Schedule to include Task Scheduling, Schedule changes & Reporting.
  • Conduct applicable technical meetings/discussions/data gathering and coordination related to all technical aspects of the solution
  • Obtain detailed customer requirements and business practices.
  • Work with commercial development team in the Agile process to schedule and prioritize bug fixes and program changes
  • Oversee the Quality Management Testing process from the program side
  • All phases of testing identified within the PWS to include all required documentation.
  • Technical documentation creation, review, management and Oversight of program testing requirements
  • Support the Test Lead with required Test Plans, Requirements,
  • Testing phases to include testing support from within the program or external testing requirements to include 508 Compliance and Performance Testing
  • Configuration Management documentation that includes, configuration standards, post configuration documentation, training documentation (guides) etc.
  • Assist with evaluating Technical Risk review for the program
  • Develop, update, and maintain Enterprise Architecture models commensurate with latest version of the DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF).
  • Identify commercial component incompatibilities and recommend solutions for seamless integration for technology upgrades and projects requiring technology upgrades
  • Assist in evaluating customer requirements and assist in determining the best approach for fulfilling those requirements using core commercial functionality
  • Provide recommendations on appropriate hardware and interfaces, processes, and procedures

What Sets You Apart (Basic Requirements):

  • Bachelor's degree with five plus (5+) years of prior relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • U.S Citizenship required and must be able to obtain and maintain a Government IT Public Trust IT2 security clearance.
  • Must currently hold or ability to obtain an active DOD 8570-01 IAM II Level Certification (minimum).
  • Must be willing to travel a minimum of 10%,
  • Hands on administrative and technical experience with all Microsoft Operating Systems and database management systems to date.
  • Must have experience with Red Hat Linux
  • Must have expertise with Databases (SQL, Cassandra etc.)
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task multiple high priority items with the ability to properly prioritize and be part of a team environment.
  • Have a strong understanding of IT networking architecture with relation to Client Server configurations and/or thin/thick net configurations.
  • Must have highly developed multi-tasking capabilities with the ability to manage time and support issues to meet and exceed Government Service Level requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten (10 +) years of hands-on Project Management experience in which lead and managed a technical team supporting an application between the Development team, Program Team and Government Program Management Team.
  • Experience in leading a technical team throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Experience working directly with development teams to ensure requirements are being maintained.
  • In-depth knowledge of software testing processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with product development lifecycle

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
