Enterprise Technology Communications Manager

Description

Leidos helps customers address their most vexing challenges through incredible technologies and deep technical expertise. We're looking for an experienced communicator to join the Leidos corporate Communications and Marketing team to lead the planning and implementation of communications strategies that will shape key stakeholders' perceptions of how Leidos leverages its enterprise technology priorities to enable them to achieve their objectives.

Collaborating with our Office of Technology team and reporting to the Senior Director, External Communications, the person in this role will oversee strategic plans that support compelling narratives about our company's technologies, in alignment with business sector pursuits. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing integrated communications plans that inspire key audiences about the company's use of advanced technologies including artificial intelligence, cyber solutions, mission software and the Leidos Innovations Centers, pursuing media engagements for designated technology spokespeople, implementing social media plans for certain company technology leaders, and overseeing content developed by a technology content specialist. The strategies and tactics managed by the person in this role should also resonate with employees to foster a broad community of Leidos technology evangelists who can help us tell our stories more holistically and effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of integrated communications strategies that present Leidos technologies and technological capabilities to key external stakeholders in the best possible light, aligning with our brand voice and campaign priorities.


  • Collaborate with the Office of Technology and technology leaders to develop thought leader positioning opportunities through which we positively portray Leidos as the trusted partner for customers across our markets as well as other companies seeking a partner to work with our customers.


  • Collaborate with Marketing on strategies and tactics for enterprise level technology campaigns that focus on artificial intelligence, cyber security, and mission software solutions.


  • Develop and execute media opportunities as appropriate for selected technology leaders through which we will promote and protect the company's reputation as a trusted technology partner.


  • Develop and execute strategies for using LinkedIn accounts of selected technology leaders to more consistently reach key stakeholders through that channel.


  • Develop and execute a content strategy for presenting our technology priorities on company owned channels such as Leidos.com

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • 8+ years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field, preferably in a technology-focused organization
  • Ability to distill complex topics and technical details into accessible narratives and talking points


  • Experience crafting communications strategies for highly regulated industries with deep integration of public policy considerations


  • Demonstrated excellence collaborating with senior leaders and subject matter experts across a matrixed organization


  • Superior written and verbal communications skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong aptitude planning across paid, earned, shared, and owned channels to enhance an organization's reputation


  • Proven experience managing media relationships and generating positive press coverage


  • Demonstrated ability to develop messaging that persuades external and internal audiences alike


  • Degree(s) in communications, marketing, journalism or work experience in such


  • Strong project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor communications campaigns


  • Ability to lead and mentor others through strong interpersonal skills


  • Aptitude at benchmarking best practices among competitors and others and adjusting our strategy as needed

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
