Leidos National Security Sector is on the lookout for a dynamic and driven individual to join our team as an Engineering Technician II, supporting our NATSC contract in beautiful Newport, Rhode Island. What You'll Be Doing
As an Engineering Technician II, you'll be at the heart of innovation, operating the Heading Coil Facilities at the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport and Naval Station Newport (NAVSTA). Your day-to-day will involve:
- Operating cutting-edge coils to perform heading sensor and module-level calibrations.
- Managing the Towed Array Test Set (TATS) and building up heading sensor assemblies with meticulous attention to detail.
- Conducting a variety of tests using established methods to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Preparing test specimens, adjusting and operating equipment, and recording crucial test data.
- Extracting and processing engineering data, using elementary algebra and geometry to present your findings.

What We're Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A high school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate, or a Technical school diploma with 1 to 2 years of work experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance (minimum of a DOD Interim secret level clearance required to start).
- Familiarity with standard computer operations and Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications
We'd be extra excited if you also have:
- Documented completion of soldering and/or fiber-optic certification/training.
- Operational knowledge and experience with industrial equipment.
- An active DOD secret clearance or Interim Secret clearance.
- This role is covered by the Service Contract Act and offers a competitive pay rate of $23.27 per hour.
