Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Research Manager to lead a significant research project focused on developing methodologies for the assessment of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) processes and facilities. This role demands a strong leader capable of managing multiple teams of research engineers across various disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, BMS/SCADA, and other architectural engineering areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall project execution, ensuring timely progress and delivery of research findings and recommendations.
The position involves collaboration with leadership, product development teams, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements. The successful candidate will be exceptionally organized, and able to demonstrate modern project management best practices.

Role and Responsibility:
- Lead and manage a large, complex research project, overseeing all aspects from planning and execution to analysis and reporting
- Direct and coordinate the activities of multiple research teams, each focused on specific engineering disciplines (electrical, BMS/SCADA, etc.)
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to research engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and challenges, and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Ensure the quality and integrity of research data and analysis
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Take ownership of the customer deliverables that clearly articulate the research findings, conclusions, and recommendations
- Present research results to internal and external audiences, including senior management, industry experts, and potential investors
- Work closely with the Project Portfolio Manager to effectively operate within allocated project budgets and resources
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in relevant engineering disciplines and research methodologies
Required Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI, or a Top Secret clearance with a current SSBI, and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI w/ poly level clearance
- Requires BA/BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience
- Extensive experience with program management, project management, or resource scheduling and forecasting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to successfully brief and interact with Senior Officials
Preferred Qualifications:
- Program Management (PgMP), Project Management (PMP), or similar certification
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
- Military or defense-related experience and an understanding of operational planning
- Experience in WMD processes or technology
- Experience managing highly technical research and development projects

Pay Range:
Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
