Leidos DSI is seeking an experienced Database Engineer to fill a critical operational role supporting customer implementations across our customer base, including SaaS and on-prem implementations. We serve high profile customers including all branches of federal, state, and local government, as well as commercial clients. Leidos DSI delivers industry-leading digital communications and workflow software along with excellent customer support.
In this role, you will support day-to-day operations of production databases and share responsibility for overall engineering tasks. You'll monitor database health and performance, respond to outage alerts, and ensure database backup and recovery jobs are in place and functioning properly. You will plan and implement patching and maintenance of databases and Oracle Enterprise Manager. You will plan and execute migration from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23ai to Amazon RDS. In parallel, you'll provide consultative support to on-premise customers as needed. You will be heavily involved in future planning including cloud migrations and support of ongoing application development. You will work with a team of experienced engineers, internal project teams, external service providers, and customers' technical staff. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and demonstrated commitment to good configuration management are required. Consistency, adherence to procedure, and meticulous attention to detail will serve you well in this position.

What Sets You Apart (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree with eight plus (8+) years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Demonstrated experience with Oracle 19c running on Windows and Amazon RDS
- Familiarity with Data Guard, RMAN, Commvault RMAN, Toad
- Application tuning experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong command of Windows Server support/maintenance, Group Policy and Active Directory expertise
- Understanding of security compliance frameworks (STIG baselines for Oracle, NIST 800-53/FISMA/FedRAMP)
- Familiarity with Configuration Management and change management best practices
- Excellent oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills that allow you to foster confidence and trust as you interact with customers, team members, corporate teams and vendors.
- Willingness/flexibility to perform weekend and after-hours system maintenance work
- US Citizenship required and the ability the obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
