Leidos is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented problem-solver to serve as a Data Analysis Engineer to support the Advanced Materials Department. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
The Advanced Materials Department is a multi-disciplinary team that provides materials engineering expertise for every phase of a program. With backgrounds in materials science, chemistry/chemical engineering, physics, among others, the department has experience in executing a variety of efforts from R&D, to prototype development, to supporting design and build tasks for manufacturing. Beyond subject matter expertise, the department has the analysis equipment, multi-physics modelling capability and experimental lab space to support activities ranging from proof-of-concept experimentation to manufacturing support.

As an integral member of the Advanced Materials Department, this position will balance multiple activities including but not limited to:
- Support multiple Leidos programs in the area of additive manufacturing (AM) over a broad range of responsibilities such as data aggregation and analysis, modeling and simulation, and testing
- Analyze and correlate test data with material properties, design attributes, and thermal profiles
- Solving complex engineering challenges with both analytical and experimental approaches.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent STEM degree from an ABET accredited institution with 2+ years applicable experience
- Must be a resident of Crane, IN or willing to relocate to work on-site at the Crane, IN office
- Experience performing statistical analysis of large multivariable datasets
- Experience using a programming language (ex. Python, MATLAB etc.) to solve engineering problems
- Experience performing research and development activities such as experimentation and/or modeling and simulation.
- Ability to obtain SECRET clearance. (US Citizenship required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing processes and technologies
- Experience using Python to solve engineering and scientific problems
- Experience anchoring modeling and simulation tools using experimentally derived datasets (ex. CT data, mechanical property data, process variable data, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience conducting experimentation and analyzing uncertainties of the associated measurements
- Experience leading tasks or elements of technical projects

Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
