The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment.

Job Summary
The Cyber Support Center (CySC) Manager supports the Air Force Headquarters Air Force (HAF) and Air Force District Washington (AFDW) 844th Communications Group (844CG) in the day-to-day operation of the IT enterprise supporting 18,000 users and mission-critical systems in the National Capital Region (NCR). The IT enterprise spans both unclassified and classified enclaves across three primary bases - the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA) and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) - and numerous remote sites. The IT enterprise includes all typical services - end user workstations, mobile devices, email, applications, servers, storage, virtualization, databases, network, and security - including both organic and externally-supplied services from higher-level AF or DOD service providers.

The CySC Manager works with Government Service Owners to deliver top-notch customer service and respond to the dynamic needs of the user base to meet the diverse missions of the Air Force in the NCR. They manage seven functional teams and over 45 personnel over a 24/7 operations center.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages and provides direction for seven distinct work centers inside the CySC.
  • Ensure operational coverage for 24/7 facility
  • Serves as hiring manager and rates the performance of approximately 20 Leidos personnel inside the CySC
  • Works as lead for the Technical Control Facility (TCF) and works with subcontractors to achieve service levels and contractual requirements at Joint Base Andrews (JBA) and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB).
  • Works directly for the AFNCR operations manager and Government Service Owners to deliver top-notch customer service and respond to the dynamic needs of the user base to meet the diverse missions of the Air Force in the NCR.
  • Coordinates across production and functional work centers in the delivery of the full span of IT services across the supported enclaves and geographic locations.
  • Act as a liaison between the 844CG work centers and supporting external service providers.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve service delivery and expand capabilities that enable additional missions for supported users.
  • Able to perform tasks within specific timelines with little or no oversight.
  • Utilizes excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to be able to effectively document solutions and obtain requirements from customers.
  • Develops working relationships with Technology vendors and partners.
  • Ensures they have a strong understanding of relevant IT technologies, both user-facing and back-end infrastructure technologies.
  • Prepares TCF information, reports, and status updates to higher-level management on the status of all circuits under the JBA and JBAB.
  • Ensure technicians restore circuits, isolate faults, conduct quality control testing, perform trend analysis, performance monitoring, and status reporting.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures for station operation in the TCF or for the AFDW operations floor.
  • Ensures technicians properly operate equipment and associated cryptographic systems. Ensures communications security (COMSEC) processes are followed in accordance with current regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or a Masters degree and 10+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience, certifications, specific Air Force IT systems experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years' experience operating Air Force IT systems and services and or similar DoD IT systems and services.
  • Familiarity with DoD and Air Force standards, policies, and enterprise solutions.
  • Experience with complex, multi-site DoD enterprise IT environments of the size, scale, and scope of the AFNCR enterprise.
  • Must have a current DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a technology field

Pay Range:

Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
