Leidos has an opening for a Communication Security (COMSEC) Lead who will support the delivery of mission enabling Information Technology Service Management/Integration and Cybersecurity for a large environment of critical national security importance. The COMSEC Lead will support operations for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).

THE MISSION
The successful candidate will provide oversight and leadership to a talented communication security team for the NNSA OCIO enterprise, including managing the secure transmission and receipt of data, narrative, and facsimile communications, using Secure Information and Management Exchange (SIMEX) and other secure communications systems. The services shall also include the installation, configuration, maintenance, and inventory for all secure telephone devices.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the team responsible for the installation, configuration, and sustainment of controlled cryptographic hardware and software.
- Provide the team with senior level experience in maintaining the health and wellness of cryptographic devices currently in operations.
- Provides COMSEC training to teammates and stakeholders.
- Manage cryptographic keys and materials, ensuring secure communications and accurate record-keeping.
- Safeguard and control COMSEC materials, ensuring access is limited to authorized personnel.
- Report and investigate COMSEC incidents, coordinating with relevant authorities.
- Provide training and certification for handling COMSEC materials, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Conduct audits and inventory of COMSEC materials to ensure compliance with standards.
- Maintain accurate records of COMSEC materials and transactions.
- Manage secure setup of, maintenance, and disposal/destruction of cryptographic devices and systems and ensuring they are configured properly.
Basic Qualifications
- An active Top Secret Security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Telecommunications, or a related field; OR Master's degree in a relevant field can be beneficial and may enhance your qualifications.
- Eight+ years of related experience
- An active CISSP or Security+ certification
- Proficiency in communication security technologies, protocols, and practices, such as, type-1 and type-2 encryptors and managing cryptographic materials.
- Deep understanding of communication security, network security, and encryption principles.
- Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with other IT teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Experience in leading a team, managing projects, and providing technical guidance to junior team members.
- CNSSI No. 4005 and TACLANE knowledge.
- Strong collaboration and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations
- Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as in team environments
Preferred Qualifications
- DOE and/or NNSA site experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of DOE and/or NNSA security policies and procedures
- Experience working in both Classified and Unclassified operations
- Experience working within Managed Service environments
- Knowledge of and/or experience with SD 205.1
- Experience in network and network security design, installation and support of LAN/WAN networks and security components
- Ability to solve complex engineering problems and implemented innovative ideas to solve customer challenges

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
