Description

Leidos is looking for a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst to support a large U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) program. The Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is responsible for enforcing federal antitrust laws and promoting fair competition in the marketplace. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will support the BI team in collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to help our business teams make data-driven decisions. You will work closely with senior analysts and other departments to understand their reporting and analytics needs, build reports, dashboards, and help identify trends that can inform key business strategies. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with business intelligence tools and grow your skills in data analysis, reporting, and visualization. This work is located onsite in the DC area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering data from various internal and external sources (e.g., databases, Excel spreadsheets, APIs).
  • Clean, transform, and prepare data for analysis, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Help maintain and update data repositories and databases to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support the development and creation of reports and dashboards in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Help translate business requirements into technical specifications for reports and visualizations.
  • Assist in automating routine reports and visualizations to ensure efficiency and consistency.
  • Perform basic data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and outliers that could inform business decisions.
  • Assist senior analysts in ad-hoc data analysis projects, providing insights that support business initiatives.
  • Conduct data validation and integrity checks to ensure reports and dashboards are accurate.
  • Support the team in maintaining and optimizing BI tools and data systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in a business intelligence or data analytics role.
  • Internship experience or academic projects related to data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Excel.
  • Understanding of data manipulation techniques and experience with tools like SQL for data querying.
  • Familiarity with data visualization principles and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of data modeling, database design, and working with relational databases.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insights.
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to approach problems analytically and identify actionable solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex data insights in a clear and understandable way to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with different teams and departments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects with varying deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Certifications: Any certifications in business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau Desktop Specialist, or SQL certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python) or additional programming skills is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud-based BI solutions (e.g., Google Data Studio, AWS QuickSight) is a plus.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
