The AWS Rack Power team is driving rapid innovation in the power systems used by Amazon Web Services. Our designs are fundamentally changing the data center, providing operational and financial benefits that are critical to the success of the AWS business and its millions of customers. We design and build power equipment used by Amazon.com and AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, Glacier, and Outpost. Our engineers solve challenging technology problems, and take big bets on new concepts, enabling AWS services to continue to revolutionize the industry.

What you will do: As a member of the Rack Power Engineering team you will develop and test power solutions for our next generation datacenter hardware. You’ll provide leadership in the application of new technologies to enable large scale server deployments in a continuous effort to deliver a world-class customer experience. You will be a power electronics subject matter expert in an engineering team responsible for both new product development as well as product sustaining and support. You will help grow the capabilities in our power test lab by creating/running new tests, innovating new test processes, and automating the execution of these tests. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with thought leaders in multiple technology areas. You’ll have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you’ll be constantly looking for ways to improve your products performance, quality and cost. We’re changing an industry, and we want individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of end-to-end battery development experience, including cell qualification.
• 5+ years of combined experience with power supplies, firmware development or battery systems and experience in developing specifications, requirements, design and analysis, documentation, and

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field
• Knowledge in battery system architecture, specifications and requirements Test development and automation experience via scripting languages.
• Experience in working with overseas vendors in product development
• Excellent written and verbal communications; able to explain complex and technical topics
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
