Job overview and responsibilities

This is a hybrid role, candidates are expected to work in the Chicago office 2 days per week.

The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for the development of critical applications, while working with a team of developers. This role will design, develop, document, test and debug new and existing applications. Additionally, this role will build these applications with a focus on delivering cloud-based solutions. The individual will use groundbreaking technologies and enterprise grade integration software daily and will be relied upon to help take the team to the next level from a technological standpoint. This role is part of the united.com payments team, which works with product owners, business analysts, and UX designers to design and build the payment checkout page. This team supports different forms of payments, ranging from major credit cards, Apple Pay, Paypal, Alipay, uplift, and UnionPay. This role also works with the backend services team, which works on all the integration services with different payment gateways and payment systems.

·        Manages and participates in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design using Agile methodologies

·        Serve as technical expert on development projects

·        Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements

·        Support, maintain, and document software functionality

·        Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation

·        Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed

·        Managers and participates in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements

·        Collaborate & lead tech teams consisting of employees & vendor company contractors in planning and execution, serving as a technology leader

·        Collaborate with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs

Qualifications

Required

·        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems or related field

·        5+ years of experience in in full-stack development with a focus on React, Typescript, C# and Node.js

·        Proficient in web development using React, Redux, Redux sagas, ES6, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3

·        5+ years of experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.

·        5 + years of experience building web applications with Micro frontend architecture

·        5+ years of experience in design patterns and enterprise standards in application design

·        A deep understanding of accessibility fundamentals and its applications in creating robust user interfaces

·        Experience with unit testing

·        Hands-on development and proficient excellence in backend API development using C# .Net in cloud5+ years’ experience implementing AWS/cloud technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Cognito,

·        route53, Dynamo DB, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, API Gateway)

·        5+ years of experience in design, development, documenting, testing, and debugging of new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use in an agile environment

·        Experience with Cloud Automation Development Tool such as Git, Python/ Bash / PowerShell Scripting

·        Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft NET Core, SQL, NoSQL and Design Patterns

·        Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented systems design and Application Development

·        Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Preferred

·        Airlines industry experience is a plus
