JOB SUMMARY


Responsible for maintaining an accurate, efficient, and data-driven preference card system, ensuring alignment of patient care needs and resources, and ensuring staff & clinicians are educated on EPIC documentation best practices. They will be Subject Matter Experts in EPIC preference cards and documentation. They will work directly with staff, clinicians, managers, vendors & supply chain personnel to ensure all needed instruments, specialty supplies, implants, tissues etc. are on the preference cards and correct cards are selected for scheduled procedures. Responsibilities will include but not limited to preference card system management, case need projections, and process improvement projects within perioperative services. Works closely with clinical leaders, scheduling office, SPS and supply chain. Works as a member of the Perioperative education team to support EPIC training for staff and clinicians. They will use performance improvement methodology to design data collection systems/processes and identify opportunities to improve care/ service for patients.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements


Education



  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience



  • Minimum 5 years of perioperative experience.


Licensure, Certification, Registration



  • RN-Registered Nurse

  • Must maintain licensing status


Language Skills



  • English


 


Preferred Requirements


Education



  • Bachelor’s Degree


 Experience



  • 7 years of perioperative experience

  • Demonstrated experience in surgical operations.


Licensure, Certification, Registration



  • Registered Nurse CNOR preferred.


 


Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements 



  • Demonstrated knowledge of surgical services and the surgical environment, including basic asepsis, traffic patterns, OR attire, instrumentation, supplies and equipment. 

  • Strong experience building positive and collaborative relationships while providing clinical consultative feedback

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in creating, implementing and managing preference cards and supporting processes.

  • Excellent understanding of the financial impact of revenues, expenses, and inventory investments.

  • Strong familiarity with product terminology and usage.

  • Excellent foundation in perioperative services operations.

  • Knowledge of specialized applications software for EPIC, patient scheduling and billing. 

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen 

  • Strong ability to work independently and as a part of a collaborative team. 

  • Must be able to use sound judgment in solving problems.

  • Strong ability to coordinate many complex systems and programs simultaneously. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including consultative, influencing, and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
