Labcorp is seeking to add an Subsidiary Billing Specialist - Appeals (Remote) in our Revenue Cycle Management Division! This individualwill be primarily responsible for maximizing revenue for the company. This team interacts with health insurers to secure coverage and reimbursement for our patients. The Appeals Specialist is expected to understand all aspects of the insurance claim appeal process and can identify insurance trends and provide impactful feedback. The result of our work is an innovative, flexible, highly scalablebilling operationsin a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Performs trend analysis of payer rejections and denials
- Produces high volume of successful appeals to insurance carriers to obtain payment
- Collaborates with multiple teams and to develop best practices to ensure we are providing the best service
- Reviews payor medical policies Sends corrected claims
- Consistently follow-ups with insurances on payor denials
- As needed, communicate via telephone with clients, professionally and concisely.
- Participates in projectsthat extend beyond your day to day to stretch you to think outside the box
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience responsible for healthcare billing, insurances/claims or accessing payor portals required
- Experience with Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and different denials & denial codes from insurances strongly preferred
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid/ HMOs/PPOs/commercial insurances strongly preferred
- Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience, strongly preferred
- Knowledge/experience with Xifin, CRM applications (i.e. Salesforce) preferred
Desired skills:
- Concise and professional verbal communication skills to interact with, clients, team members and management via various methods, i.e., telephone, email and virtually.
- Detail oriented with good organizational skills
- Ability to multitask within multiple systems
- Adaptable with changing duties, following an SOP but able to problem solve and deviate as required by specific requests
- Ability to manage time and tasks independently while working under minimal supervision
- Professional and courteous email communication
- Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to improving patients' lives
- Enjoys problem-solving in a dynamic, fast paced, team-based and rapidly changing environment
Strongly preferred experience:
- Dealing with multiple insurances and accessing payor portals
- Knowledge and/or experience with Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and different denials & denial codes from insurances
- Knowledge, preferably (experience) with Medicare/Medicaid/HMOs/PPOs/commercial insurances
- Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) experience, strongly preferred

Remote work requirements:
- Dedicated work from home space
- Internet download speed of at least 50 megabytes per second

Shift: Monday- Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm PST hours
