We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist to join our Immunohistochemistry team in the Specialty Pathology Services (SPS) department in Madison, WI.

This position offers the opportunity to lead method development initiatives, while advancing capabilities in in-situ hybridization and image analysis. As an expert in the field, you will collaborate with the team to drive innovation, enhance technical expertise in these areas, and contribute to the overall growth of the department.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 7+ years relevant experience (advanced degree can substitute for experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on histology experience including microtomy and immunohistochemistry experience using automated IHC stainers (e.g. Leica and Ventana)
- Experience with method development
- Experience in immunofluorescence, in-situ hybridization, and multiplexing a plus
- Experience in a GLP regulated laboratory environment a plus
Essential Duties:
- Acts as training lead for SPS tasks
- Develops working relationships across diverse groups. Encourages collaboration among internal teams and partner functions.
- Leads equipment maintenance activities
- Leads equipment/software validation
- Completes SPS method development. Provides related updates to sponsor.
- Leads technical troubleshooting
- Evaluates feasibility of SPS proposals. Provides feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Engages in scientific discussions with sponsors and internal partners. Uses expertise to influence decisions
- Oversees SPS training guide development
- Performs SPS operational workload
- Stays current on advancements in the industry (e.g. equipment, methods). May develop new service offerings
- Champions exceptional quality standards
- Addresses quality findings
- Leads local/global initiatives
