We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist I to join our Immunology and Immunotoxicology (I&I) department as part of our cell-based assays team in Madison, WI.

This position will provide scientific expertise to Early Development Safety Assessment and standalone studies over a wide range of Immunology and Immunotoxicology-associated endpoints in order to support an enhanced solutions-based approach to Clients' requests. The responsibilities include participating in all procedures in the operational areas of I&I. These include sample analysis and data review in compliance with regulatory guidelines, supporting method transfer and validation work, instrument metrology and general Laboratory support duties.
Education/Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, immunology, cell biology, or relevant discipline area with 5+ years relevant cell-based experience
- Preferred: Master's degree in biotechnology, immunology, cell biology, toxicology, or relevant discipline area with 2+ years relevant cell-based experience
- Experience with cell-based and molecular methods such as flow cytometry, ELISpot, primary and immortalized cell culture, in vitro proliferation and stimulation, DNA/RNA isolation and purification, and qPCR
- Experience in a GLP regulated laboratory environment preferred
Essential Duties:
- Organizes and conducts routine and non-routine sample analysis in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Documents work and maintains study documentation and laboratory records.
- Sets up, operates and performs routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment.
- Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work.
- Critically review and perform QC checks and approval of data
- To assist in setting up and performing method development and validation of various Immunotoxicology assays.
- To be involved in the transfer of methods into I&I
- To be aware and understand the appropriate regulatory guidelines.
- Performs troubleshooting and guides others in troubleshooting processes, instrumentation and methods
- Represents the department in client calls/visits and conferences where required.
