The IT Senior Technical Specialist and Coordinator is a critical role that ensures the ongoing development, coordination, and support of the Specimen Integrity System (SIS) across the entire Diagnostics enterprise. This role works closely with the SIS team and its Manager to handle day-to-day system operations, support, and development efforts, as well as coordinate rolling deployments for SIS. The IT Senior Technical Specialist also takes an active part in the development of SIS features, enhancements, and troubleshooting. This position requires an individual who can both oversee project coordination and be hands-on with development tasks, ensuring the system runs efficiently as the enterprise grows and evolves.

- Lead and support development and maintenance efforts for SIS, collaborating with the SIS team and other stakeholders across multiple projects and acquisitions.
- Coordinate and manage development schedules, ensuring timely delivery of updates and deployments for the SIS front-end system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SIS-related issues, providing day-to-day system support to the Diagnostics enterprise.
- Oversee rolling deployments, ensuring smooth integration of new releases and updates with minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on SIS-related initiatives, enhancements, and changes.
- Assist in the planning and execution of system migrations, acquisitions, and integration of new features.
- Document development processes, coding standards, and operational workflows for the team and stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and support to other developers on the SIS team as needed.
- Monitor system performance, identify areas for optimization, and recommend improvements to enhance functionality.
- Keep up with industry trends and technologies, proposing solutions to enhance the overall SIS experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on enterprise-level applications and systems.
- Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, SQLServer 2019 or higher, Windows Services, API Development, .NET Core, .NET/.NET Framework, VB.NET + .NET Core.
- Experience with Visual Basic 6 a plus.
- Proven experience in coordinating and managing complex development projects and deployments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues quickly and effectively.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Operations or healthcare IT systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Experience with cloud-based environments, data security, and system integrations is desirable.
