Senior Data Lead (Workday) - Remote

Reporting to Sr Manager of HR Tech Operations, the Sr Workday Data Lead will help evolve and refine our HR data strategy, drive HR tech data quality by developing and implementing data management best practices, and actively design and contribute to HR data strategic initiatives and process enhancements. This role will establish robust data standards, effective operating models, evolve data to support AI literacy, and implement scalable governance to ensure Labcorp's data is fit-for-purpose as a strategic asset throughout its lifecycle. The successful candidate will demonstrate domain expertise and commitment to driving continuous improvement in data quality and stewardship, have a strong blend of vision, pragmatism, and business and technology skills focused on HR tech data models across the HR tech landscape of Workday, ServiceNow, and Cornerstone/SABA LMS platforms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish global data governance program & implement and oversee global HR master data standards to increase transparency, quality, and accuracy of HR data.


  • Analyze data flow, processes, and configuration to recommend enhancements to increase quality and efficiency of data collection and maintenance.


  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide consultation, process design, and project management to ensure data elements align with business needs and goals for HR data related initiatives.


  • Oversee, guide & support integration of new data elements into our HR master data system(s).


  • Monitor and report on system performance and domain/ process level quality issues. Lead projects to identify, correct, and re-engineer HR processes to ensure improved data quality.


  • Partner to automate data entry and design single collection points wherever possible.


  • Develop protocols around the consumption of HR data and ensure consistent use of HR data across the organization.


  • Design audit fieldwork, testing, and reporting and share in delivery responsibilities to include scheduled and ad hoc activities.


  • Globally ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and establish robust governance practices on an international scale.


  • Create learning materials and reports needed to support COEs and other stakeholders who are responsible for maintenance and updates of HR data. Contribute to the documentation of HR tech processes, procedures, and configuration changes.


  • Manage mass data change projects and participate in testing and QA processes for system updates, strategic projects, enhancements, &, M&A integrations. Collaborate with HR Tech Team with Workday releases, to ensure no impact on governance practices or expectations.


  • Other duties as assigned.

MINUMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCED:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience is required with emphasis on Data Science, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Technical Communication, or a similar field.


  • Minimum 5+ years of HR data handling / data governance


  • Experience establishing data literacy program or designing and delivering effective data governance and quality training and change management programs.


  • Strong understanding of data privacy, compliance requirements, and data governance principles.


  • Experience with various data governance, catalog and quality tools such as Alteryx, Collibra, Informatica, SAP, and/or Microsoft Purview.


  • Experience in managing and/or delivering projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies and use of various PM tools such as Jira, Smartsheets, and ServiceNow case management.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Proven experience in executing mass data analysis and comfortable discussing data-related issues with senior leadership.


  • Strong understanding of data lineage and tracing and linkage between HR and business strategy and drive execution on strategic objectives through harmonized processes, elevated employee experiences and a team culture built around customer-centricity.


  • Possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues, adjust to changing requirements, and implement effective solutions.


  • Ensure complex employee, manager or business data scenarios are analyzed and effectively communicated to key stakeholders.


  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships, influence multiple partners, and establish common goals and objectives without sacrificing outcomes.


  • Recognized as a trusted resource within function as process oriented with strong attention to detail who takes initiative to solve problems and fill process gaps.


  • Skilled in managing project delivery timelines, meeting deadlines, and establishing and communicating clear expectations for stakeholders.


  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and present information in a concise and easily comprehensible manner, both verbally and written, across all levels of the organization.
