Sample Handling Associate II - LPS

The Proficient Level, Assistant II is accountable for the receipt and the processing of irreplaceable clinical trial specimens. The Proficient Level, Assistant II will perform a variety of tasks depending on the specific Sample Handling Assistant level held.

Responsibilities:

  • Same duties as in the Standard level, Assistant I
  • Perform Kit Receipt process (batch and non-batch, ambient only, frozen only and combo) and ensure all kits are timely processed) at an above average production rate.
  • Identify and ensure special request(s) from the investigator (via requisition) are taken in charge.
  • Perform reassignments, handle discrepancies, create non-Req form, create ANA, and handle CAG etc De-CAG.
  • Handle the Optional testing request(s).
  • Handle the NPAT's.
  • Timely perform the 2nd data entry of patient demographics and Administrative entries (2nd Accessioning) and ensure the QC of the requisition.
  • Check and clean the CPP report.
  • Handle the kits in the South African database when appropriate (if applicable).
  • Independently complete processes of all areas in the LPS department.
  • Independently resolve problem samples from lab or kits received.
  • Foster team environment in all LPS areas.
  • Assist management and assigned workflow leads to ensure daily optimal workflow organization and workload completion in all areas.
  • Help Standard and Proficient levels in researching and resolving issues. Act as mentor to these levels by answering questions and providing other training as needed.
  • Lead the team to meet departmental goals.
  • Mentor potential employee for succession planning.
  • Assumes leadership role in the supervisor's absence to include but not limited to Organizing assignments during the workday & Acting as a resource for internal customers.
