The PSTS PRN Float position is a position within the clinical laboratory working independently to perform blood draws on patients located at a variety of locations within the Atlantic Division. You essentially will have a home base location yet consistently travel between locations to cover sites when other PSTS are not allocated to be at that location for the day. This is to include covering for Scheduled and unscheduled PLB as well as in unforeseen circumstances to include but not limited to Bereavement, jury duty and emergencies. You may be required to travel and cover within and outside of your local area. Your schedule is typically determined and given weekly, however it is subject to change at any time, even with a short same day notice. The expectation is that you are available and ready to be redirected at any time. You should check your schedule daily to ensure that you are aware of any changes that may have been made and communicate with your Supervisor regarding any questions or discrepancies as they arise. If you notated to work at your home base/PSC then you are still required to report to work on time. If you are scheduled to work at a location for a partial shift, then you should communicate with your Supervisor as to where you are to report to for the remainder of the day. If you are unable to get direction, then you should report to your Home Base/PSC to finish the remainder of your shift. It is the expectation that you work your entire shift unless otherwise directed with your supervisor. If circumstances will prevent you from working your entire shift and arrangements have not been made with your Supervisor, then the Atlantic Division Attendance policy will be effective. As a float you are responsible for not only following all applicable Standard Operating Procedures, Business Practices, and Policies but to also maintain exceptional customer service and professionalism. As a float it is expected that you can troubleshoot difficult orders, IT issues, TOUCH issues, technical issues and assist Leadership if needed. Respond to client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service by addressing needs and troubleshooting. No personal work should be done on company time.
