Post Life Supervisor I

As a Post Life Supervisor I you'll provide guidance, coaching and coordinate the daily activities of Study Technicians and Research Assistants in pre-clinical (Animal Research) Drug Studies. Duties include but not limited to;
- Plan, schedule, and organize necessary resources for study conduct and assignments. Assign workload to direct employees.
- Interprets study plans and identifies problems resulting from the study plan or during study conduct and takes appropriate action.
- Ensures that all necropsy and histologic procedures are completed and documented according to SOPs, GLPs, appropriate regulatory agency guidelines, and client specifications for all assigned studies.
- Acts as a subject matter expert in performing and guiding necropsy work, laboratory procedures and study documentation.
- Works closely with internal partners as well as clients to achieve study requirements.
- Responsible to produce and/or distribute appropriate communication within the group including study progress, facility procedures, quality, health and safety, business updates and any other departmental or company communications
- Optimizes existing and develops new techniques, methods for study conduct or non-study specific areas and supports their application.
- Performs quality controls, assures corrections of errors (incl. documentation) identifies potential problems and optimizes the quality control system.
- Performs interviewing, selection and hiring of team members
- Responsible for constructive responses to reports and questions from Study Direction, QAU, EH&S, clients or regulatory agencies in a timely manner. Performs corrective actions when needed.
- Provides for safety and welfare of staff and supports/enforces Environmental Health and Safety Policies
- Prepares and discussed staff performance evaluation according to Labcorp standards Address performance management issues within the team. Assist with setting employee objectives based on strategic goals. Identify personnel actions, such as career development and skills building for direct reports.
- Learns the Labcorp Drug Development cost structure and how to proactively impact it.
- Takes responsibility for laboratory, equipment, methods, inventory of supplies, disposal,
- Participates in meetings, inspections or client visits.

Experience/Education/Qualifications
- We are open to a variety of educational backgrounds including AS Degree as Vet Tech/Veterinary Science or BS Degree in Life Science areas such as Animal Science, Biology, Animal Behavior, Wildlife Studies or related fields. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education.
- 2+ years of work experience in a Study Technician or related Animal Research related position. 2+ years of experience in front line supervisor position with management responsibility for a team of
- employees may be substitute for experience in Study Technician or related Animal Research related position.
- AALAS certification at the Laboratory Animal Technologist level is encouraged, but not required.
