Labcorp is seeking a Materials Control Worker to join our team in RTP, NC. This position will be responsible for fulfilling customer orders of medical lab supplies and products.

The Integrated Oncology division of LabCorp is seeking a Materials Control Worker to join their team in RTP, NC! As a Materials Control Worker you will perform tasks that support the Pathology and Histology departments. Core responsibilities include retrieving FFPE blocks and glass slides from both on- and off-site storage facilities, preparing and unpacking palletized shipments of boxes at our off-site storage facility, and preparing materials for send out to other facilities. In addition, this employee will be responsible for other slide room tasks including, filing/ pulling/ delivering requested materials, collating pathologist's slides, and general upkeep of on- and off-site storage facilities.

Work Schedule: first shift Monday-Friday 10:00am to 6:30pm

Job Responsibilities

  • Place orders for supplies from vendors via computer and telephone
  • Load and unload supplies from trucks and verify packing slips
  • Receive and process stock into inventory management system
  • Process orders from client offices and patient service centers via phone, fax and email
  • Print requisition forms and barcode labels for internal and external clients
  • Pack orders for shipment via various shipping methods such as Fed Ex & UPS
  • Resolve all customer concerns efficiently and timely
  • Maintain inventory control according to company standards
  • Participate in scheduled cycle counts and full physical inventory
  • Deliver supplies to local branches, clients and patient service centers when needed
  • Biweekly retrieval and transport of roughly 30 requested FFPE blocks and glass slides between off-site storage facility (in Burlington, NC) and CMBP
  • Prepare materials for send out
  • Perform core responsibilities: filing/pulling blocks and slides, temperature & humidity monitoring, 5S, and general upkeep of on-site and off-site storage facilities
  • Correspond with other labs and lab support groups to resolve client inquiries and concerns
  • Prepare, unload, and file palletized bulk block and slide shipments for long term storage
  • Safely operate vehicle and obey all traffic laws and report on a specified route and evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed
  • Support process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to company Global/Regional/Local SOPs as appropriate
  • Comply with relevant Environmental, Health and Safety at work regulations and Company Policies
  • Ensure company procedures are followed in relation to security and access to relevant areas and data or sample integrity

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous medical or production experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of inventory control and cycle counts
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Drivers License
