Labcorp is seeking a Part-Time Lab Support Technician to join its team in San Leandro, CA! This position will be working in the Pre-analytical department at our STAT clinical laboratory. In this role, you will process urgent patient samples to be analyzed on-site or sent off-site. You will work with your fellow Technicians along with Clinical Laboratory Scientists. This is a great entry-level opportunity to join a first-class laboratory and grow in a career in the diagnostics field! Please note, this position will be focused primarily on accessioning and processing samples. No wet lab bench work is involved.
Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-1:30pm

Pay Range: $20.00-26.00/hr

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine laboratory duties within the PreAnalytical area including:
- Specimen receiving and data entry in LIS
- Instrument loading
- Recording of equipment daily readings and disinfection logs.
- Completion of QA Documents
- Responsible for sample preparation steps including Aliquoting, and Pour-offs
- Perform inventory control
- Practice aseptic / sterile techniques
- Comply with all safety/infection control policies and procedures
- Communicate with outside departments including Healthcare Providers, Client Services and other Labcorp personnel.
Job Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- BS/BA degree in Biology, Chemistry, or similar biological scientific discipline highly preferred
- Previous lab experience a plus, but not required
- Laboratory experience performing assays utilizing instrumentation a plus
- Understanding and familiarity with aseptic technique and good specimen handling
- Strong computer skills: familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is beneficial
- Experience with SOPs, QA and QC standards
- Must have good organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in collaborative, flexible work environment
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
