We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Laboratory Operations Director to oversee and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our laboratory operations in Shelton, CT. This role will involve managing laboratory resources, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading a team to drive innovation and operational excellence in our Shelton, CT Oncology and Dianon Pathology laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve laboratory efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee budget planning and resource allocation, optimizing the use of laboratory facilities and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research initiatives and project goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the laboratory team.
- Monitor and evaluate laboratory performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Recruit, train, and mentor laboratory staff, promoting professional development and skill advancement.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of laboratory activities and results.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements to drive best practices in laboratory operations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline; advanced degree in business preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in laboratory operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory compliance regulations and quality standards (e.g., ISO, CAP, NYS).
- Proven track record of managing budgets and optimizing resources in a laboratory setting.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on mentoring and development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
