Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Job Responsibilities:
- Pull and manage laboratory quality metrics
- Lead and perform process improvement projects
- Help lead mock inspections
- Participate in accreditation surveys
- Send weekly and monthly quality reports to management
- Lead monthly quality meetings with laboratory management, including Laboratory Medical Directors
- Maintain a safe work environment by performing safety audits
- Performance of on-site visits to assess quality and safety within the laboratory
- Monitor and maintain compliance with Joint Commission and CLIA standards for survey readiness
- Participate in accreditation surveys and assist with submission of plan of corrections, if needed
- Attend and participate in Quality and Safety meetings at a laboratory, facility, and statewide level
- Assist the Laboratory Technical Advisory Committees and regularly attend meetings
- Attend and participate in Patient Safety meetings at a facility level
- Monitor and maintain laboratory safety events, including participation at Pre-SERT and SERT meetings.
- Maintain and own local laboratory quality and safety policies and procedures
- Assist with the creation of Statewide Laboratory Quality and Safety policies and procedures
- Assist laboratory leaders with management of associate training and competency assessments, including creation of new competency assessment tools
- Assist laboratory leaders with management of associate acknowledgement of policies and procedures
- Perform risk assessments to include but not limited to: new instruments, new processes, post exposures and spills
- Assist with the management of Laboratory CLIA certificates for Wisconsin
- Fulfill the role of Laboratory Safety Officer for Wisconsin, including management of the SDS system
Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Technologist/Technician
- ASCP and/or AMT Certifications are a plus
- Prior leadership experience is a plus
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
