LabCorp Lab Systems is a dynamic team that supports a variety of the laboratories and systems. We are in search of an IT Technical Specialist to assist with the validation, certification and installation support of a laboratory testing automated solution. This hybrid position can be located in the Raleigh, NC, Burlington, NC or LabCorp facility with proximity to a physical lab location.
The applicant will be challenged with learning, understanding and validating lab information systems as well as middleware or interface components to support the transfer of data between systems. They will be engaged in a wide variety of work, including but not limited to validation/certification, creation of validation artifacts, hands-on testing and review of workflows and working with complex business integrations.

This position could require up to 50% or more travel to lab facilities across the US.
Responsibilities:
The individual in this role will be responsible for:
- Developing test plans and strategies for certifying lab system applications, interface/middleware components using functional or technical specifications
- Write and execute test scenarios/cases that will be used to certify a full lab system workflow using flow/data flow diagrams and other technical artifacts to ensure quality programming and design standards are met
- Validating the file definition/configurations within laboratory systems and applications, testing and troubleshooting instrument interfaces, services or programs
- Provide remote or on-site support prior to, during and post implementations of lab automated solutions or conversions
- Working closely with lab system specialists, systems developers and vendors to develop testing solutions and processes to certify the automated solutions meet the desired specifications and outcomes
- Understanding and learning laboratory and operational systems/application workflows through architectural/technical artifacts and real-time observations and analysis
- Adhere to enterprise and company best practices and standards in the software lifecycle process
Required Skills and Work Experience:
- BS in Computer Science or related technical field
- Minimum 5-7 years experience in health related field with relevant experience with lab information systems and/or operational workflows
- Aptitude to understand and comprehend technical solutions for enterprise level production systems, to include instrument interfaces, middleware platforms/programs, and Laboratory Information Systems
- Ability to understand and translate file/data transformations (HL7, ASTM, FHIR), instrument interfaces and middleware platforms
- Ability to create and document validation artifacts using MS suites and other tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the skillset to work in a collaborative environment
- Enterprise Systems/Services/Protocols: Cache', Antrim, HL7, ASTM
- Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
- Experience with lab instrument and automation platforms like Data innovations, etc. a major plus
