Job Responsibilities

• Slide production (embedding, cutting, staining, and distribution)
• Special stains (manual and automated)
• Perform various immunohistochemical tests
• Prepare the stains and reagents needed for special procedures
• Operate, maintain, and document manual and automated instrumentation

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate's Degree with 1-3 years of histology experience OR a high school diploma with 5+ years of histology tech experience OR HT-ASCP certified
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in histology is preferred
• Immunohistochemistry experience is a plus
• Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens
• Ability to accurately read all labels and documents
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirable
• Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols

FLU - New Team Members will be required to present proof of influenza immunization or will be given the influenza vaccine during the pre-employment screening by Occupational Medicine or during hospital orientation between September 1 and March 31. Dates may be extended based upon community flu burden. New Team Members employed outside of months when influenza vaccine is available will be informed of the policy and will be expected to comply with vaccination the next influenza season.
