If so, Labcorp wants to speak with you about exciting opportunities to join our Diagnostic Devices MedTox team as a Formulations Technologist located in Burlington, NC! In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at Labcorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".

Medical drug monitoring at MedTox Laboratories is performed on a urine sample, using state-of-the-art, ultra-high performance liquid chromatography, and tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC/MS-MS) analysis, as well as supporting immunoassays for select drug classes. The Formulations Technician will be responsible to operate various equipment for the purpose of dispensing Conjugate and Gold, prepare some buffers, wash laboratory glassware, and enter inventory transactions into Visual software system. This position will be working closely with production as needed. Other duties, includes set up and cleanup of the equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOP).

Work schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm & Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Follow defined protocols and procedures to formulate tests on lateral flow test strips (including reagent dilution and working with antibodies).
  • Evaluate test performance to determine if the test meets acceptance criteria
  • Create buffers as needed for the formulation of test strips.
  • Work independently and within a team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required OR an MLS degree
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred
  • Prior experience with design control and ISO 13485 are desirable
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
