The Director of IT Sourcing is responsible for global sourcing strategy and supplier management supporting IT Diagnostics. This position directs enterprise strategy within the category and develops proposals in support of strategic business decisions.

What to Expect

  • Leads, mentors, develops, and empowers the supporting team members assigned to support IT category to maintain a high performing category sourcing unit including strong cost/service performance and strong engagement/service mentality with stakeholders.
  • Influences, engages, collaborates, and partners with senior executive stakeholders and coordinate the opportunity of indirectsourcing savings and increased payment terms.
  • Partners with function/budget send owners to execute the sourcing process including supplier identification, competitive bidding, negotiations, selection, contracting, and performance management.
  • Accountable for development and implementation of the individual category sourcing strategy in alignment with business needs.
  • Oversees strategic supplier relationship management for key suppliers, organization and execution of regular Business Review Meetings and drive execution of action items.
  • Oversees and may negotiate and finalize Master Service Agreements.
  • Works with appropriate business and finance teams:
    • Accountable for productivity and savings planning as well as ensuring sourcing participation in the annual budgeting planning for the category.
    • Accountable for the overall delivery of the category savings targets for all categories following the target setting process.
  • Accountable for compliance with all the applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines in accordance with the applicable laws.
  • Global Position Scope
  • Responsible for multiple cost centers or business units
  • Directly interacts with External Vendors; Global/Regional Sourcing Managers/Directors; Internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Senior Leadership
  • Office based/remote work (hybrid) with potential of 25% travel to other sites and supplier facilities as needed.
  • Flexibility to participate in meetings across various time zones outside core working hours
  • Occasionally working extended hours in order to adhere to sourcing/supply chain deliverable timelines or attend sourcing and vendor meetings

Travel requirements of the position on an annual basis

  • % of time:20-25%
  • % of the above that requires overnight stay: 100%

Education and Qualification(s)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or business field, required
  • 5-10 years of healthcare and life sciences experience, including 3 years of experience in an upper-strategic leadership role, leading and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Deep experience and relationships in the supplier/manufacturer community that support indirect service categories such as IT, Facilities, Professional Services etc.

Ability to:

  • Establish and oversee program office and governance structure to assure alignment across Biopharma Laboratory Services & Diagnostics to achieve savings goals.
  • Facilitate communication between business units, internal stakeholders and suppliers for effective operation and delivery. Build business cases to influence stakeholders toward change.
  • Build trustful relationships and to work collaboratively across multiple functions and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and support to cross-functional teams to ensure they understand their roles and interdependence in the delivery of sustainable services.
  • Strong working relationship with internal LabCorp management and global leadership
  • Track record of excellent cross-functional negotiating skills required.
  • Demonstrable ability of continuously improve supply chain performance and to consistently achieve KPIs.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; strong organizational skills with a focus on details and strong analytical skills; demonstrated track record leading teams required.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, strong listening skills and written/verbal communication abilities. Effective in working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong business acumen with commercial and scientific mindset
