The work schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. (NOT REMOTE)
Job Description- Performs routine cytogenetic tests and molecular cytogenetics tests independently with accuracy and efficiency.
- Develops new testing procedures.
- Perform FISH and Chromosomes analysis.
- Provides technical expertise to technologists.
- Performs duties and responsibilities assigned for a cytogenetics technologist.
- Performs all types of cytogenetics tests established in the lab.
- Develops new cytogenetic procedures.
- Provides technical expertise in troubleshooting.
- Monitors the performance of the equipment.
- Maintains adequate levels of inventory of supplies for their working areas.
- Provides expertise in technical troubleshooting.
- Participates in reviewing and revising lab manual.
- Assists the team leader/supervisor in preparation of the lab for safety inspections, and laboratory surveys for licensing
- Alerts the team leader/general supervisor for unusual events or unexpected results.
- Communicates with team leader/supervisor when having unusual test results or technical /clinical concerns.
- Seeks advice from team leader/supervisor when uncertain with test procedures or results.
- Attends staff meeting regularly.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in biological, chemical and/or medical sciences from an accredited college or university or an equivalent to the above degree.
- Certified by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) as a Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG).
- Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Florida as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Technologist in Cytogenetics.
